Kyle Bachus successfully defended his Ph.D thesis on “Engineering patterned materials and microstructured fibres for microfluidics and analytical applications” on April 26th, 2017. Dr. Oleschuk and Dr. Bachus attended the convocation on June 2nd, 2017.
Oleschuk group develops a method to rapidly pattern and prototype substrates capable of generation droplets less than 1 nL in volume.
The Oleschuk group implements these substrates into a 3D-printed device coupled with fluorescence spectroscopy for the rapid detection of quenching species. This work has been published in ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces.

Yueqiao Fu, Graham Gibson and Richard Oleschuk have developed an approach for the fabrication of polymer microstructures with high aspect ratio and low polydispersity using photonic fibres as templates.
